Since, at least to me, all my amplifiers are utilitarian work horse`s, and I`m not concerned about show casing them, especially painting them some gaudy candy apple red that one might to expect to see on some fifties roadster.
My vintage Mac tube amps have quite rusty chrome tops on all of them, but the one MC 60 purchased used.

And I consider that appearance to convey "DNA" evidence of their life`s history, doing what they were designed to do.
They were purchased in 1974 fresh from a post Mac Clinic sale.
Their insides are rust free.
The next picture shows them placed in my unused fireplace, not because I`m ashamed of them, but it was a practical place to run them in NE. FL. to vent the waste heat out of my house during use.

Now, the next picture of my more recent(2010) purchased & mono configured, (4) Mac MC- 275 LE`s in a row on the floor underneath my center channel speaker, in my great room, would seem to contradict my earlier statement, but that really is not the case, as there was really no other practical place to site them in that room, was not for any show casing "wow factor" for any first time visitors to my house.
The amp`s even sit on Linseed coated cutting boards purchased inexpensively from Target, instead of fancy finished marble, etc. planks, also done for practical reasons.

But that`s just my way of thinking, and if some folks like that "colorizing", more power to you.
Ok, enough noise from me.
