Offered for $2,000 with local pickup.

Might just be a record sale price on this model.

I think as long as someone hits the "buy" button, ebay is authorized to take money from your paypal account. I could be wrong.

I think in this case that If someone out of state would pay $2350, but if local you pay $2000..... Kind of negates the "free shipping?" not sure if its ok

Makes me feel good about the pair I am listening to as I read this thread. I paid $500 a year ago. However, mine are the Lansing verson.
Same here. Found mine for $250 without the correct woofers. Actually found some some original woofers and they are back to original

AK's very own Bartertown has 19's with incorrect drivers asking 3 grand, 9849A monitors in painted cabinets for a grand. Take a look at what GPA's current prices for parts and components have done, tripled in some cases like 414 and 416 woofers. Using those numbers for quick reference there's nothing crazy or foolish about 2 grand for a perfect pair of 14's.

Apparently, at some point over the last few months prices/values have doubled and in some cases tripled. Looks like i need to do some cleaning out and selling.

A while back, someone told me Altec products command significantly more money in CA because it facilitates shipment to Japan. I have no idea how true that is. :dunno:

Whether this particular pair of 14s was shipped (domestically) for $350 or picked up locally for $2,000 is anybody's guess.

Whatever the case may be, Model 14 owners might be feeling a little richer now. :beerchug:
