They should first determine that at least one of the diaphragms is good. Otherwise it's about 5 bucks worth of scrap for the lot. The drivers are worth about 50 bucks each working, and the HP-940 horns about half that. On their best day, hifi they ain't.
You can buy Altec 906 for the same money, it's a DH-2012 with added mass and a 1.4 inch throat with lower distortion and better HF extension than DH-1 or DH2012 and uses the same diaphragm
