I picked this up, but am having some trouble findjng a service manual. How do I open this bad boy up to clean the old oil out and re-lube it?

Even the owners manual gives you a hint. Just like many other Pioneer and other brands made by CEC the top plate can be removed by loosening 2 screws (just a bit; don't remove them) and sliding them along the slots. This moves clips away from some blocks built into the lower base. Et Voila!
