Redlining your Mac Amps

How many of us regularly see their Power Guard lights?

I probably would, but I have the PG lights turned off (please don't ask how)

Not so far, however I haven`t really pushed it yet it`s coming though. I`m sure at some point (maybe tonight) I might just hit that spot!

No but i am an idiot......... I have a 350w amp with speakers that can only handle 150 w.

I wonder if that is max power or max continuious power (BW p6's) hmmmmmmmmmm

I don't think my power guard lights work, the only time I see them is when I turn my amps on. Could be because I rarely go over 5 watts.

I don't think I could stand to be in the same room as my system if I was pushing it to power guard.

Just for you, I just pushed it up to 50 watts. It was fun for a song but then I had to turn it down.

I am smart enough to stay away - Once my BMW was over 6 years old i stopped having it serviced at the dealer....... must resist.

You'd be surprised how much power they can actually absorb on peaks as long as there is no clipping. :yes: I've seen about 300-400 on my meters a few times before. They are only rated at 200w. The clipping is the killer of speakers but nothing to worry about with McIntosh amps that have power guard.
