SA-9100 capacitor parts list

Has anyone compiled a cap list for the SA-9100 with digikey or mouser part numbers? I'm going to recap this sucker and thought i'd ask---

I looked, nope...

But there's Four 63v caps (two on each p.s. board 470/63 & 100/63) that would benefit from being 80v. $ difference is small.

The rest of the caps on the B board could all be spec'd at 50v, for survival under fault conditions. If they're ALREADY at 50, and there is a corresponding value at 63v I would use it, but I wouldn't go to 80v.

Just my $0.02 worth.. be careful about axial vs radial leads....
 
Hi. I just recapped about a week ago. When I ordered my parts I ordered nichicon caps. I'll look up my order on outlook when I get home and send you the list so you know what to order if you want to order then yourself.

50V caps ok to replace 25V?

Hi, here's the cap list. I also replaced the two axial electrolytics on the PS board. For the hell of it, and so I could hopefully just fix it and forget about it for the next 25 years, I also ordered the big filter caps. They were about $17 a piece and I'd rather just get it over with. Also the girlfriend it pretty much over me tinkering and is ready to just start enjoying. I also replaced the input differential pairs per Echowar's advice and noticed a nice change in sound. Hope this helps. I'm pretty sure it's complete but it wouldn't be a bad idea to check against your manual.

As a side note, all digikey had was 50V version of the .22 and .47 electrolytics for the amp board. I haven't replaced them yet because I wanted to see what the experts thought, what do you guys think, is this ok to sub the higher value cap? :scratch2:

The higher voltage(s) are fine, just don't go overboard (but your wallet will warn you about the overboard part).

25v to 50v is harmless.

The schematic shows 56 volts at those caps, but I have seen it higher. Then there's the junk that is coming in over the line and makes it through the transformer. Seven volts are not a lot of safety margin while the 80v caps aren't stressed at all with 24v margin.

But when you up the voltage to 80v with only a few cents cost to do so, it's cheap insurance.

On the other side of the regulator, the increased voltages are in case the regulator fails. There's less to replace, just blown transistors, not shorted caps (from overvoltage) too. If you wanted to get really anal, all caps could be 63v caps, but with the 15% momentary overvoltage 50v is a reasonable gamble.
