Hello I have a scott 340b tube reciever that lost some of it's dial glass lettering during a clean up. Anyone know of a place that has replacement dial glass for this unit or does silk screening? Thanks Brian

Get in touch with Radiodaze - they have the Scott 380 and may be able to make you one. About $40, maybe they could rescreen yours for a little less...

I have been waiting since October for Scott 340b glass. The gentleman at Radiodaze is very nice but he stated it can take several months to get production going.

Good Luck.

Yup I talked to the nice guy at Audiodaze today. He assured me they'll have the dial glass before the end of the year. Guess we'll just have to wait. This is my 1st piece of vintage tube scott gear. Do you have any tips or do's and don'ts for a recap? Thanks Brian

I haven't considered recapping yet. Mine is in pieces awaiting the new glass. My glass was destroyed in shipment.

I've recapped my 340b, all coupling caps in the ouput section and preamp section with Orange Drops 716P (10 total) The multisection lytics I left alone since they still work fine but some extra capacitence was added. All under chassi electrolytics were replaced as well as the selenium bridge. A few smaller tubular American Radionic caps remain. The 340b is a nice receiver and has been very dependable.

There is room underneath the chassis to strap in a couple of large value caps for the 450V supply. I think my 340B had 160uF on the plate supply when I was done with it. I recommend replacing the diodes in the bridge for that supply. Use 1N4007.
