Seeking United McIntosh tweeters

Who can tell me anything about these loudspeakers and where I can get the original tweeters for replacement?
These have a shipping weight of 100 pounds each.

I once heard these MCS speakers shared the same mid/hf drivers with the ML series McIntosh speakers. Supposed to be pretty good speakers.

I just saw them listed. Did you buy them?

United audio morphed into phase tech and also built any number of speakers as house branded lineups.

It would be nice if the mid drivers had the same response curves as the custom made driver that UA supplied to Mac for the early ML speakers. Parting out cheesy JC Penny speakers would certainly be cheaper than than trying to find good used Mac replacements.

Remember McIntosh had to supply UA with test equipment to allow them to build drivers that Mac's expectations. Who knows what happened to the castoffs.

Also the shown driver frames are round not rectangular like used in all the MLs but for the 10s that were soon switched over with a plate.

Thank you for the correction on changing US to UA. Can't seem to remember that consistently.
And yes thank you for that company named that you a morph into, I had forgotten the name although I knew that it happened.
I did not know that McIntosh supply testing equipment to them. That's pretty impressive.
I told one of the tweeters but I cannot read the numbers on it. I'm going to have to pull the other one and hope that the writing is legible.
Roger Russell has a great page about all of this. I'm sure I can find them there as long as I know the numbers. Possibly.
someone said that these are the same tweeters used in some of the Yamaha speakers N5, I think I recall...or NS5.
Is there anyone can help us out with that that would be great.
not sure what you mean about cheesy speakers but these are hardly that. and I think that any speakers put out by JCPenney that use these drivers would not fit that description.
And I probably misunderstood your cheesy, however.

You know that United Speaker Systems is the company you mention which morphed into Phase Technology. Founded by Bill Hecht, the inventor of the dome tweeter, no less. United Audio Products. the firm you posted, is best known for being the USA importers and agents for Dual turntables, and open reel and cassette decks for many years. Just to clear up your post and add understanding.

I thought Hecht's company was called UA but do stand corrected. Did not united audio build the plinths that got distributed with the early Dual tables?
