I built them 20 years ago using the Axon 6S1 drivers from what I remember. Can't recall anything about the crossovers. I heard a similar pair and was impressed enough to buy all the drivers.

Built this for my Chevrolet Colorado, factory head unit is ok, front door speakers are ok, but it is not a US truck, it is actually a Australian Holden Colorado style.
Kenwood 4 channel amp running 4 channels from the rear speaker lines via a converter to line level.
I had no specs on the Speakers, so winged it, sounds awesome. &" JL Audio marine woofers, two pair of 4" Pioneer coaxials.
4 separate chambers, inner two (for 7''s) are ported to the outside slanted faces.

I stated in my above post that I don't recall anything about the crossovers, still don't have any idea what slopes,etc. that they were but I think the xover point was 2200 cps.
Also don't remember what brand of tweeters i used. 20+ years ago is a long time.
I’ve never heard L/A’s but would I like to hear some.

I have always been blown away by the sound from the ESS pyramids. The speakers I am building this time use the ESS AMT 1D as a starting point. Cabinet is 44" tall 14.25" wide 16"~19" deep. Interior is 4 cubic feet. Material is salvaged leftovers from a project at work. 1.2" thick made of high density chip board with HPL interior surface and walnut wood veneer all outside surfaces. Empty cabinet weighs over 100 lbs each.
Twin cones are GRS 10PR-8 poly cones rubber surround. I picked up an old pair of ESS AMT 1D crossovers but the previous owner had the circuit miswired and had replaced a pair of fried resistors with the wrong value. I built new crossovers based on the 1D's and keeping the coils. I kicked the resistors up to 25 watts from original 10 watts and the caps are all 100v over the original 50v. Potentiometers are new exact copies. Standoffs for the crossovers and crossover potentiometer control extensions were made from fiberglass rod. Cabinet vents are 2" tubes with 4" horns. Polyfil on standby waiting to fill the cabinet. All interior corners have .2" x 2" felt for corner dampening.

This is as far as I was able to get in January. Unfortunately I have been in ... call this LIMBO No.1, since mid December. LIMBO 2 was the crossover, L3 the caps in shipping nearly three months from Europe for the amp. L4 ... Anyway no amount of nice or please can get Ricky at ESS to ship my large pair AMT's and crossover placards purchased as 'in stock' December 13th, three months ago. I have two matching 5lb plinths that are still an option for the AMT's if I do not mount directly to the top of the cabinet. I now have enough of the 1.2" material to build 17" tall open face album storage/speaker risers with solid back sides top and bottom.
Should easily have them finished before ESS ever ships my units.

Over a week since ESS posted the pics of AMT parts in lineup. Still no word from Ricky on last years parts order of 'instock' AMT's. I did finish the album storage speaker risers. Pics of staining and last pic with the white striped laminate is just after final satin finish. Will be ready to come home tomorrow. Final size is 20" tall with 16" wide album storage each. Wish I had found this Oxblood red dye before starting the speaker project. I just used the Oxblood on an Akai AA-1175 referb. That story is here in Ak.

3-22. Talked to ESS today. They said that production is up and running in new facility. Hoping for the order soon to finish these speakers.
