I am trying to get one of these going. All I get is the red light comes on after powering it on, no relay click and thus no output. I also found a great response and description from EW on the protection workings from a few years ago. I followed that and none of the components tested bad. Calling in the troops, I need some assistance please. Please let me know if I need to start a new one.

The SVD10E1 are regular rectifier diodes, you could replace them for cosmetic purposes if you want. I used 1N4002

I tried this and the voltage became fixed...had to put the original back in. The trannies cooled off significantly, though.

On mine I changed all 6 diodes with 1N4007s and strangely the relay no longer clicks. The original 15000uf capacitors are still in place.

Hi everyone having an issue with a technics su-8600 all down to one short I cannot find. Any info would be great please see pic. X’s mean replaced transistors once I drop the 68ohm resistor in I get a dead short. This has been a headache for me the unit was pretty rough with dead shorts but I fixed most and this is the last short. What do you all think would cause this. Thanks very much
