This is what mine looks like. I have no idea what the object on the right is. I bought it ( used) with it glued to the base.
I’ve never seen that. Could be something that held a record cleaning brush but that is a shot in the dark. You have a TP-16 tonearm. Send a pic of the cartridge. This is what mine looks like. I have no idea what the object on the right is. I bought it ( used) with it glued to the base.
Correct. It’s the base for a Decca 1,000,000 conductive fiber record brush. I’ve been using one since’76.I’ve never seen that. Could be something that held a record cleaning brush but that is a shot in the dark. You have a TP-16 tonearm. Send a pic of the cartridge.
Post a picture of your turntable/tonearm and we will tell you. Also post a pic of your cartridge to confirm the model.

But wait there is more. Since you have been using one since 76, you might not know that they changed that holder/cleaner to a plastic piece with ridges instead of the metal pin to run the bristles across to clean the brush. It’s the base for a Decca 1,000,000 conductive fiber record brush. Which cartridge would you recommend?FYI, if you have the TP 16 tonearm then it’s not a good match for the V15 III. It will work of course and I ran a V15 IV on that arm for a while but a lower compliance cartridge will be a better match and will track better.
Looks like your cartridge is not a V15III. I don’t know which one you have but I would try it first.Which cartridge would you recommend?
