Always liked that era of King Crimson, and I also favor:
"In The Wake of Poseidon" (an LP of sharp contrasts)
and
"Lizard" (with many vocals by Jon Anderson--and excellent roaring Mellotrons)
followed by the pause of the enigmatic "Islands" before roaring back to:
"Larks Tongue in Aspic" before going "Starless and Bible Black"
Always liked that era of King Crimson, and I also favor:

Mine is the Adrian Belew era beginning with Discipline. Big fan of that music especially the live albums Absent Lovers, B'Boom, Vroom Vroom and Heavy Construkction. The DVD "Eyes Wide Open" is quite good and an exellent view into the mind of Robert Fripp.

Yes he did. What brought the whole listening session on was the fact that the two of us had seen Tull the night before (they performed an abbreviated Thick as a Brick). Wanted him to hear it as it was intended to sound. The concert was his second time seeing Tull.

BTW, Robert Fripp and the League of Gentleman Guitarists (or something like that ) are going to be making a Chicago appearance in the next week or two.

I was very fortunate to have a second row center seat at the Landmark Theater in Syracuse in the Spring of 1982 to see King Crimson (with Fripp, Belew, Levin & Bruford--Discipline Tour). Small historic theater (Egyptian Revival adding to the ambience), incredible acoustics and a very appreciative crowd. Belew in his Hawaiian shirt (ELEPHANT TALK!!) and Mr Fripp in his requisite three-piece-suit with reel-to-reel tape recorder for on-the-spot Frippertronics. Quite a show that night...One More Red Nightmare...

I'm sure gonna try.
King Crimson came to me rather late in life. I owned Starless and Bible Black literaly from the day it was released (The Night Watch blew me away). It wasn't till I was in my 40's that I went back and started from the beginning. Now it seems I can't get enough. My favorite period is from In the Court of the Crimson King right through Starless and Bible Black.
Oh BTW I'm sure you've seen this web site.
