Of all places, Ithaca New York spawned an incredible reggae band. The founder, Kevin Kinsella made his last appearance with the band on this recording. His absence is certainly felt on the later recordings.

Love this band's early works. Especially All Time, but this one is solidly in the pocket of roots reggae.

I love that band, with their debut All Time being my favorite. Pressure Points was the last JBB I bought. Without Kevin Kinsella I was skeptical. His songs are the highlights of all the 10 Foot Ganja Plant releases.

There are two interesting RSD releases coming in the next few days.

Wailing - The Wailing Souls 40th anniversary double LP, pressed on white translucent vinyl, gatefold sleeve with rare Adrian Boot photos
Roast Fish Collie Weed & Corn Bread - Lee Perry remastered and pressed on medium dark red vinyl, printed inner sleeve and liner notes from David Katz

I'm gonna try to pick both of them up.

I was hoping my RSD copy of Roast Fish Collie Weed & Corn Bread would arrive in the mail today. It didn't, but I got something just as cool. Friends Of The One on vinyl by Shanti Yalah. Fresh from Spain.

I can finally throw away my crappy 90's cassette!

Here is a terrific review from Pitchfork regarding the Wailing Souls release that will come on "Drop 2" of RSD.

My favorite new album of 2021 (so far). It's from a super expressive singer, Sebastian Sturm. Echoes.

Rocksteady Got Soul. This is one of two Studio One collections that Soul Jazz has put out this year. I like the more roots oriented one better (Fire Over Babylon) but both are stellar packages. Fantastic mastering!
