"From The Bottom To The Top"

Here is my 2022 top 5 albums:

1. Various Artists - Studio One Women Volume 2 (Soul Jazz)
2. Count Ossie and The Mystic Revelation of Rastafari - Grounation (Soul Jazz) Many pressings of this exist but there is something about the way Soul Jazz masters their releases. This is the one to pick up.
3. Midnite - King's Bell (Before Zero) This reissue of Midnite's 2011 classic is attributed to Akae Beka. Not sure why.
4. Horace Andy - Midnight Rocker (On-U Sound)
5. Addis Pablo - Melodies from The House of Levi (Jah Solid Rock)

Biggest disappointment of the year:
The Movement - Always With Me (Self Released) Too many fast beats spoil the mood

Single of the year:

This Christmas - Glen Ricks.

HORACE ANDY "MIDNIGHT SCORCHERS"
2022 LP On-U Sound

Excellent dubbed-out reworking of Andy's last record "Midnight Rockers". Very much in the same vein as last year's "Heavy Rain".

One of my favorite bands has released two new LP's this year. The vinyl sold out so quick I didn't get copies but the downloads on BC sound terrific. A Distant Beat is their all-new material. Vibrations From the Bionic Tabernacle is a dub album created from their first three albums.
