Are there any essential tools I need for proper cartridge setup on a sl-1200 mk2? I have nothing right now.

Yes - you need the white plastic cart alignment jig - go to kab to pick one up - just google kab technics if you are not already aware of them.

Thanks,

Hi Curtis! SO GREAT to see someone else here from Louisiana!

First, do you have mounting hardware (little screws and nuts, etc.) and a little screwdriver?

If you have the above, the next thing I would ask is if you have that little white "L" shaped bracket that comes with the table? (Did you buy your 1200 new or used?). That little bracket is an alignment tool/gauge. If you don't have it, let me know via private message. I have a spare and wouldn't mind sending it to you gratis (unless of course you live in my area and I can either deliver it to you or you can pick it up from me), along with instructions on how to use it.

Next, if you don't have a tracking force scale, you should get one asap. While the counterweight dial is fairly accurate, a tracking force scale is a very useful tool to make sure you have dead-on tracking force.

Please feel free to private me if you have any other questions, and if you happen to live in the New Orleans area, I can just hand off the L-bracket alignment tool to you.

I've seen that and will order one asap. And its cheap. Do I also need a cartridge alignment disc. Like the geo disc?

I'm from Denham springs. There are a few ppl here from Louisiana. And mostly from New Orleans. I got the table used on cl. All most mint condition for $300. The other month. But nothing came with it. So I'm building up little by little. It's a unbelievable table. Soooo much better then my denon dp-300f..
