when revamping my thorens td-166, i built some additional isolation into it.
I made a new 3/4" mdf bottom cover, with four square mdf pieces added on all 4 corners, and those were bored out using a hole cutter, and in those holes I stuck squash balls as feet.
those feet stick out about 3/5ths of the way, and kinda flatten out a bit from the weight of the TT.
this is sitting on the top of my DIY sand filled flexi stand.
I'm sure I can get better isolation if I were so inclined, but these in combination work very well.
I can knock on the shelf the tt sits on, and not hear anything out of the speakers.
that, and it sounds great. there was a lot of improvement in comparison to a stock td-166
it looks good too.
