Weekly Estate and Garage sale finds (pics)

Hello Rob. It's nice to see you are still collecting. I understand how fun it can be looking for things to add to your collection, it really is like treasure hunting. I used to collect ace double paperback books and I remember what a thrill it was to find a new one that I didn't have. Since I am no longer in the city where the used bookstores are I have stopped collecting but I still have about 500 of them. How many tv's are you up to now?

Found a few things nothing audio except a Radio Shack 40CH CB Weatheradio TRC-460 works for a buck also nice pair of NIKE AIR Baseball Cleats and Nappa Valley 100 Cassette Wooden Display Case all at one Yard Sell.I keep looking for Vintage Gear no luck,it's fun just getting out there and looking.Who knows what you'll find out there.........

I guess today is my lucky day or ? Went to the sale, good stuff gone as usual. But.....here we go, a nice clean not a scratch fully working Teac AN-300 Noise reducer for $30.

Heck....I thought something with meters would have gone in the first 30 minutes of the opening. Not after two days of sale? Especially something with 4 large meters? And good cheap price? People don't like eye candy any more?

Anyway, it is mine now. Only for the look

This weekend make up for a month long drought. Picked up a pair of Boston CR-6's, an HP oscilloscope with five or six probes, a pair of German books from the 1936 Olympics where all of the photos are printed on photos pasted into each copy of the book.

Also got a Poster advertising Zeppelin flights from Germany to the US on the Hindenburg. Most that I researched had the printing on the poster, this had it on a plaque at the bottom.

But the big one was six boxes of classical albums from the estate of two music teachers, arranged by composer. Twenty "shaded dog" RCAs, and that's just in the first box. Best part? Free to a good home.

This one gets framed for the cover, any ideas on the gear?

Then, top top it off, three of the records in the box were from my high school's choral and musical theater programs (which were two thousand miles and multiple decades away). I've been in touch with my old director, and his copy is long gone, so I know where this is going once I digitize it.

Nothing really high end or vintage, but a couple cool grabs that are easy to flip. For a total of $23, a mint First Act guitar amp, a pair of Dr. Dre Beats Detox headphones, and a Harley Davidson AM/FM cassette boombox. When you squeeze the lever, it makes a HD loud pipes roar. Sounds just like my neighbor! :thmbsp:

The headphones list new for $399!!

Got a big vinyl score today!

Here's the best ones that are still sealed...

Lots of avant-garde jazz and similar stuff. A bit of comedy (Firesign Theater), political spoken word (Dick Gregory). A lot if it sealed...

Yup, lots of uncommon goodies in there.

Here's a few more now that I've paged through them all.

They just completed the 400 mile yard sale this weekend.

Lately, it has become like local Craigslist, which is inundated with velvet elvis types with all that cheap Chinese tools, and craptastic junk that nobody buys.

But I did find these. Covers written on, and worn a little, but vinyl is all in at least good shape, some very good.

12 bucks.

Here in N.Florida we have something called "Flea Across Florida".
The thing about N.Florida is there's really no wealth here, just a bunch of Po "Bible Belt" Folks selling junk or wanting too much for what little they do have.

You want to find treasure you have to go to S.Florida or the Sarasota/St. Petersburg area.

I drive East an hour to the Jacksonville area, but even there it's new money and very rarely anything special comes up..

That's the mother lode of classical. And the 1936 Olympics stuff is drool-worthy.

I've counted over 80 RCA Shaded Dogs, nearly all mono. :sigh: Sleeves are in VG to VG+ condition, with few splits. A good number of six-eyed Columbias as well. I've been binging on vinyl so much that I had to refill my bottle of D3 fluid.

Mono isn't anything to sneeze at, if you have a good setup.
