Ducan' "medium" hot coffee, with a couple "Tennessee Honeys" before the high heat/humidity hits this afternoon...and my daughter's dog for babysitting (10 days ) arrives tomorrow morning...
Hunters Cocktail
2oz bourbon
.75 Oz Heering cherry liqueur
.25 Oz maraschino liqueur
Orange bitters
Mix everything and shake with ice then pour over ice.
I've been experimenting with this concoction but this is the basic recipe. Too much cherry heering and it develops a slight cough syrup aftertaste. The original recipe dates back about 100 years and was rye whiskey with just the cherry heering. Modern recipes seem to have replaced the rye with bourbon and addition of the maraschino. A luxardo cherry tops it off.
It's kind of like a cherry old fashioned. It's not as sweet as it seems it would be - at least to me it isn't but I like sweet drinks. Some recipes call for more whiskey and less liqueur.
Bother liqueurs are about 25% alcohol but the bourbon is strong enough flavor to keep it from being gulped. Sorry no pics.
Cheap bourbon, Ginger Ale, Peach nectar and a small shot of Bob's Homemade Cannabis liquor -
(an ounce of decarbed herb soaked in a fifth of 120 proof Everclear)
Just another "Michigan Old Fashioned" with local-sourced ingredients. Coming off a whole week of High-Heat Warning days (it's been awful), looking forward to a week of under 90º days. My delicate constitution can hardly take it, I might have to have a beer!
Hey Bob,
White Russian, Sky Walker OG and Miles & McLaughlin just killing it scorched earth style.

Happy 4th of July!
Double dry hopped IPA from Other Half brewing in Brooklyn NY - how this ended up on the west coast I’ll have to ask the owner of the bottle shop I found it in. Canned in April, so it’s been traveling (or sitting in someone’s warehouse) but it is still quite tasty. Got a noseful of hops when I popped it open!
