Had to take wifey to the eye doctor today. Stopped at Costco on the way home to pick up some new windshield wiper blades. The blades were right next to the booze aisle, and our liquor cabinet is getting a little sparse. Probably the most expensive blades I've ever bought. Oh, well............

We were, but only had 1 full day which was for the steam train in the redwoods and chillin’ at the Dream Inn. We’ll be back, soon. Next night was at Cambria Pines. We were winging it home and planned to stay in Solvang, but it was Danish Days weekend, so booked. The few remaining online $100 teaser starting rate rooms were $275 and up. If not for childhood memories of camping at Lake Cachuma and going to Solvang when I was a kid in Santa Barbara I’d skip it.

I found this at Total Wines in a variety mix 12 pak - a weird one:
Drakes Brewing and Bear Republic - how could I say no?

Was pretty good bourbon, I think the 7 year blue label is better. This one has a lot going on, it’s super flavorful, or the flavors really punch through is a better way to say it. It’s like it’s a bourbon concentrate. Absolutely no burn to it at all, super smooth but to intense for my liking. 7/10. It was also low buck so nothing to complain about.

I’ve been liking the founders all day IPA, low cal and nice and crisp. The bear republic stuff is good, I’ve had a few of their offerings and have liked them.

*self-described, badge of honor, take no offense. My 45 year old Mexican plumber nephew-in-law taught “Tio Juan how to drink tequila like a Mexican”. It was right after I used the term on his wedding night to my niece at the after party. We were in “Peedro”, wife’s hometown. Squirt and cheap Tequila (sorry not sorry, but not Quervo cheap) was the way. I just embellish a touch.
