Crown DL-2, ARC SP-3something and SP-9II, Luxman C-1000 with all silver knobs and touch mute and a Bottlehead Foreplay I hot rodded. It has a pair of ampohm oil output caps riding outboard that look like pontoons. Other than that it looks, but isn't stock.

My current DACs are both all-digital. DACs with volume control. The NAD M51 and the Berkeley Audio Designs Alpha DAC.
They're both, when used as such, superior to any traditional preamp I've heard (so far). They remind me of my McCormack TLC-1 Deluxe passive preamp, but with better dynamics.

Really not sure how high-end it's considered to be, but I've had this McCormack TLC-1 Line Drive in my system for a couple years and love it.

^^The McCormack TLC-1 Line Drive is high end (in my book at least). Mine kicked out a nearly brand new Marantz SC-11s1 from my main rig before I got my Klyne. It's excellent if you just take a little care to get short quality cables and higher gain source. I think they're one of the great bargains in audio right now.
However, the Klyne may go in favor of a YBA1. It's the two-box affair on top.
Friend of mine has the YBA amp on the bottom...nice amp. Looks like a nice, pre, too. Have you compared the two? I'm really not using a pre at all right now (as detailed above).

I suppose that depends on your definition of vintage, which I'm sure would net ten results from ten people asked. My McCormack unit's main board has a 1992 copyright date, so I guess it's somewhere in the grey area. Still, it's over 20 years old now.
I have the Klyne, and have had the YBA on loan from the crack dealer. It's maddening, I tell ya. I THINK the YBA is just a tad bit better overall, but the Klyne has a better phono stage. The YBA has dual detented volume controls, and like every other pre that has them, it's either a hair to soft or loud.
Have them both connected to an AC Magnum MF330 tonight, and it's close. If I keep the YBA, the Klyne would get sold. I'm fortunate to have this problem, but damn, I should just dump it all and get an iPod and stop the merry go round.
You, sir, have a most enviable problem! I know what you say about the detented volume controls. I cannot deal with them. Nice to hear that about the YBA preamp, as I think very highly of the Klyne. I love the phono stage on it but actually have come to prefer my Juicy Music Tercell tube phono stage to the phono section of the Klyne. Just in regards to preferring the difference, not that one is really better or worse.
The DAC/pres have temporarily stopped my merry go round, though. I've actually unhooked my turntables for the time being, as I don't have analog inputs on them. But I LOVE them. The best of all worlds so far, or at least the best of the tube/solid state/passive/active options I've tried.
