What is your Avatar??

The picture in my Avatar is an artist's rendition, based on the latest research, of what the universe looked like exactly 0.00034 nanoseconds before the "Big Bang."

Mine is of a JBL Paragon that I had the fortune to buy at an auction and reluctantly sold .Most likely will never see another' one in my life time. Englissa

Its a picture of my Akai GX-365D tape deck.

Nothing special...last time I changed my avatar, it was what I picked. I used to use a picture of random bars from my EQs analyzer.

I change mine from time-to-time. I just put this animated GIF of the Cookie Monster up last week. Don't know why exactly, but I think it was JohnVF who recently said it reminded him of what we do here; back and forth, back and forth, about things like tone controls, vintage or modern, and record brushes. I'll go with that.

The floating polar bear in my signature was my avatar for the first couple years here. I keep it visible so people have the association as I change my avatar proper.

I first used the polar bear b/c i thought it was a nice, simple graphic (it's from a T shirt); it didn't dawn on me until much later that it could be seen as a comment on the polar ice caps melting.

Action picture from the cockpit of my sailboat taken last summer. I used to use my daughter in various pics growing up but I figured it wasn't fair to the other 3 kids so I went with the boat.

Ray,
More info on the boat would be nice. Off line is OK. I'm currently thinking about construction of an ultralight trimaran, just to bug the Hobie Cat Crowd.

Currently mine is Pablo Picasso's "Three Musicians". It represents my passion for listening to and playing music. Plus I really like the works of Picasso and the colors / tones / hues he used in this one.

It will probably change soon, then this will make no sense. :D

There are two Picasso "Three Musicians" paintings. One is in the museum of Modern Art in New York and the other is in the Philadelphia Museum of Art. This is the one hanging in Philly.

People actually debate which one is the better painting.

This is me about to go on-air at the public radio station where I have been a volunteer for about the last 6 yrs. I am using a mid 1920s Brunswick player with some of the 500 records that I scored on from the acoustic era. I do a big band/swing music show on the 1st Saturday of the month & an "oldies" show on the 3rd Sat. Also cover the board during the Friday World Cafe broadcast. Started out with an antique radio hobby, led to the public radio volunteer thing, led to becoming a vintage audio "nut" with extensive(!) LP collection! Finally, worked it out to go for a journalism degree at 60yrs old. :yes: I get to sit in class with twenty-something college girls:thmbsp:

Oh, the radio station;

Current avatar is the hand of the late bluesman Hound Dog Taylor. Recently I had a picture of me playing guitar at a gig we did in November. Prior to that was a picture of part of the control panel of my main guitar amp, a 1961 Fender Vibrolux.

When I first joined audio forums, this picture came to mind to use as an avatar.

The Archies 33/rpm record from the back of a Post Alpha-Bits cereal box. This one has the hit "Jingle Jangle." I have it on display in the rock room. I like the vibrant artwork, and I am reminded of happier, innocent times.
