What the heck are these?

I got these with a recent purchase which included Kappa 8’s and a center channel. They say Kappa 6 but doesn’t a 6 have more drivers? A little help and background anyone.

Someone changed this speaker into a subwoofer, looks like they added a TC Sounds speaker and a Bash subwoofer amp to it. They actually did a nice job with fit and finish to the original Kappa speaker
 
Looks like Kappa guts were substituted with those from subwoofer of a different manufacturer(s).
 
Thanks for the help friends. Definitely as suspected, it was done by an electrical engineer who owned these before me. He did do a clean job. They look super smooth.
