Un-serviced in all that time, Sgt. ?
If so, most impressive, my friend.
Well now not exactly lol.

The amp was serviced less than 2yrs after purchase due to my lack of understanding of load impedance. It didn't like having a pair of 8ohm speakers along with a pair of 4ohm speakers cranked and the magic smoke was released.

It's been unmolested ever since.

I wonder how many here own one?
Quite a few. There is a thread in the Turntables section "Official Well Tempered Thread" or something like that. It gets pretty active whenever one of us has questions about the beast or has a maintenance issue.

Ahhh, I see, so you inadvertently toasted the output section !
Mercy Sakes Alive !!! Learned that real quick, the the amp`s connected speaker impedance sensitivity, did you, especially if the repair wasn`t under warranty ($$)!
Well, who ever serviced it, it would seem they did a good job of it.
Barring any future attempts by you to try to jump start your car with the output section again ! LOL !

I've posted in the thread. Another member mentioning having one got me thinking as these aren't that common just how many members here actually own one.

Mr Pig sold his about a yr ago if memory serves, it was his purchase that reminded me to look again for my bucket list table of 35yrs, I've thanked him for that.

So I started another thread that isn't about the machinations so much as just how many are represented here at AK.

I bought my Marantz 2275 in 1975, so 47+ years. Only modification was the two big capacitors, and a new set of front panel lights.

I still have my NAD 4155 tuner which still works but has been mothballed (at least it worked when I stored it away some 10 or 15 years ago). It’s at least 40+ years old…

Very nice unit!

had this JVC RX400 for 27 years until my 4th move in 3 years. Just gave it away along with my other gear and a whole bunch of other stuff. I hope it’s still going strong

The oldest piece of gear that I still own is a Heathkit AD-1305 equalizer that I purchased as a kit in December of 1976. It hasn’t been used much since the late 1990s, but I did recap it in 2020. The next oldest items are a Heathkit AR-1515 receiver and an AD-1307 audio control center purchased in June of 1977. The AD-1307 is used almost on a daily basis and the receiver was used on a steady basis until the late 1990s and has been used off and on since.

52 years. Bought my first decent gear - a Marantz 1060, a Pioneer PL-12D and some Linear Dynamics speakers - in 1973. Still have the amp and turntable, both pristine and both upated/restored. They don't get much use anymore, but I can't bear to part with them!

My Technics SL1210M5 (KAB mod) purchased new back in 2003 is the oldest component active on my mains. I own some gear from the mid 80's but that's been stored in the basement for years.

Sansui tuner I bought at the PX in Yokosuka Japan on my way from Vietnam back to the states in 1974.
