When bad people happen to good woofers

Just a bit of welding, grinding and reconing, and they will be like new!

Sorry for your loss, been through the same kind of poor packaging trouble,
but not with something this valuable. Hope the shipper DOES learn something
from the experience, but not so optimistic...

I'm guessing they weren't exactly packed properly, so the shipper would be fully justified in refusing to pay the insurance claim.

I'm assuming you've already started the process to get a refund? Don't wait.

Assuming that strong and rigid cast frames can be packed half-assedly shows the shipper does not know they are also quite brittle. Sorry for these otherwise nice looking drivers Nate.

Oh yeah, one more thing...

...this was one of two pairs that arrived in the same condition! :sigh:

I'd like to suggest that AK'ers turn their systems off for one minute at noon today....in rememberance. How on earth could someone mess them up that bad?

I would've guessed that someone was playing too much Lady Gaga and the Altec's just self-destructed to spare themselves any more pain.

In all seriousness~That's the most serious packing mishap I've ever seen...2 Pairs? Wow..Just..wow...Sorry about the loss man.

The box must've rolled off the back of the truck....Was "Sketchy Guy with an El Camino" a shipping option?

This was my first real shipping disaster in many eBay purchases - I guess I'd been lucky so far.

And yes, I am working toward a resolution. What a shame that these gorgeous things are gone forever, though.

I have to assume they were really packed that poorly? 2-in-a-box (a big no-no), and not even rigid foam or nuthin? Prolly peanuts or bubble wrap.:nono:

Seller should be ashamed of themselves.

Only saving grace is they are so far gone that you don't feel like "hey, I can fix that"...:thumbsdn:

Not much to say that those pictures don't already say with heartbreaking eloquence...

What a shame! :sigh: :tears:

I hope you work something out that at least doesn't see you much out of pocket for those, Nate. Any chance of taking the various undamaged pieces and re-assembling them to get one working pair of speakers?

I'm expecting a full refund, so at least there won't be any monetary damage.

I don't know how much can be salvaged of these. I sent an album of pics to GPA to get their professional opinion. No word back, yet.

Sorry to see this Nate, hope you can work things out with the seller at least.

Scott

I tried to come up with something constructive or at least comforting to write Nate, but all I wound up with was... Well... ****!

Sorry man.
