Im away from the forum for a few weeks and then this!!
Chris and I had some heated exchanges in our early encounters, but I respect his passion for the McIntosh brand, and he certainly has a wealth of knowledge which he was beginning to share more of in recent times....
This is not good news, and I am wishing Chris and his family all the best one can offer at this awful time.

We have all had heated exchanges with Chris at one time or a other. I don't think he ever took that as anything other than a passionate group discussing our favorite brand.
Chris earned my respect very early on with his depth of insider knowledge and his knowledge of servicing the units. I have also greatly enjoyed hearing him recount his stories with Gordon, Dirk, Sidney, etc.
Not the answer I was hoping for. This is really not good. I'd echo what others have said about his service and historical (stories) knowledge and his willingness to share that and to help people on this board. I also liked his idea (that I think he posted here once or twice) to use AudioKarma as a repository for that knowledge.
I'm so sorry to hear this terrible news. I enjoyed the passion that Chris shared for audio and McIntosh. My condolences to his family. He will be sorely missed here on AK.
Oh no, what terrible news! My thoughts and prayers to Chris and his family. There is always hope, my Lisa is approaching 5 years since her stage 4 diagnosis.
Chris is a a person I never read a post which I did not learn something. All his thoughts and wisdom has helped me with gear selection and optimization of the McIntosh systems i have. May you still be hearing the music and know we pull for you in this tough time.
