Whitney Houston, RIP

To be so pretty, seemingly sweet, & possesor of a GREAT voice, she had a troubled life...RIP, Honey.

A tremendous talent wasted.
I guess I'll drag out a couple of her albums and give them a spin.

Wow, kind of shocked here (I don't keep up on musicians/celebs so I didn't see it coming, if, indeed, it was).

I remember hearing her hits from the 80's as a kid and really liking them (what a voice!). Only in the past couple of years did I finally get her first 3 albums, all of which I enjoy. Going to have to play at least one tonight now.

Sad news. Thanks for the music Whitney!

I want to write something insightful, but I’m at a loss. I wasn’t a fan of her style of music, but when she truly “connected” with a performance, whether in music or film, I was often stunned at how incredibly talented she was. She truly had a once-in-a-generation voice, and it’s always sad when we lose an icon of her magnitude. We invest a lot of ourselves in our heroes, and it can be devastating when they show frailty and weakness in public. Then again, it also can earn them more fans. For Whitney, both cases were true. Ultimately, though, it just leaves sadness and a feeling of talent wasted. :sigh: For some odd reason, when I first heard the news, I thought of Marvin Gaye. Lots of accomplishments behind them, no chance for accomplishments ahead. :tears: RIP, Whitney.
