Who's listening to FM Tonight? What tuner?

melody fair show on KXLU on a sony J75

Super mellow Sunday night sounds. Trying to decide which tuner sounds better. Veteran t-80 with matched filters, (or so i was told, but hey) or the recently received t-1 that looks SO FRESH inside and out. Just arrived Friday.
Sometimes when you get stuff on eBay, it's just like wtf man. This one, guy said it works, ok. I'll bite. Few scratches on top, but it works great! I put an led in the dial indicator and a little orange nail polish on the gauge indicators. A quick sand and satin black on the lid and she good to go! Seriously, the inside is immaculate. All electrolytic caps looked fresh as a daisy, and alignment is spot on.

My kids and I did some side by side switching back and forth with the t-80 and the t-1 and find them to be nearly indistinguishable. That is to say very nice. Thank you eBay man.

I'm liking the look of that T-1... Nice !

I was talking with Steve at Audio Classics and he has 58 tuners that need home and he is willing to make a deal as tuner sales have almost come to a stand still. He has two of the very famous Marantz 10B that need a home plus many other great tube and SS units from many other manufacturers. I have a MR 78, MR 7084 and a MR-80. I prefer the 80 for my set up. I had the 80 and 78 reconditioned about 10 years ago and they sound great. I bought the 84 for AM talk radio years ago. I mostly listen to FM using the ram and MDX car radios when I am driving or traveling. I stream WQRX from New York. They are the best classical station. I miss their Jazz programing and why I subscribed to the station in the beginning.

102.9 The Whale to win Stevie Nick's contest

The venerable old Kenwood KT-6007 that still can pull in stations easily. I have a huge old wood cased Sansui as well as a few Yamaha's, an T700 and T850 but they just sit in boxes in garage waiting for rotation

I'm a new member of tuner club as of today.

I went into one of the local vintage dealers for a new stylus, and spotted this TX-500 to go with the SA-500 I've had for a couple years.

Receives signals in stereo, but the indicator lamp is burned out. Looks to be a simple repair.

Listening to World Cafe on WOI-FM. Sounding good so far!

Pioneer TX-500 tuner and SA-500 integrated amplifier.
