Who's listening to FM Tonight? What tuner?

Installed standard incandescent bulbs in place of the bluish LEDs that the TX-500 came with when acquired. Now the dial shows off its multiple colors, rather than everything being blue. Brightness also seems more appropriate. Personal preference of course.

Tuning meter still has an LED. It's not as blue as it appears in the photo, so I may keep that as is.

Listening to Studio One on WOI-FM.

Pioneer TX-500 tuner and SA-500 integrated amplifier on desktop. A Realistic Minimus-7 speaker in black is on the right side.

Listening to Artistry in Jazz with Tom Pethic on Jazz901/WGMC on a new to me HH Scott LT-10 tuner. Tom is highlighting Art Blakey on the 106th anniversary of his birth

I bought this tuner off the big auction site in ‘not working, for parts’ condition for some spare parts for my 310d. The 6x4 was missing and the pilot lights were burnt out. After tending to that and removing 60 years of grime, she is sounding not too bad, even with just an alligator clip for antenna. All of the tubes are also what appear to be original HH Scott branded tubes.

Mine? Its an Allied Radio 395, made by Pioneer, similar to their SX-1000TW, about 1970 vintage +/-. Mine has no Radio Shaack logos on it, so maybe a little older...

Recently acquired a Yamaha TX-900u. It is easily the best tuner I have ever owned in terms getting fringe stations (and stations in crowded frequency space)to play. The fine tune capability (which is also stored with the preset when saved!) really allows you too find the best sub frequency to get the best possible from your signal acquisition. My Tandberg tr-2080 tuner is possibly "more musical" in behaviour, but the capture skills of the TX-900u is certainly a game changer for me now.

Well, I just got this McIntosh MR 78 had a checked out in great condition now I’m waiting for my new channel master rotor to show up so I can bring my tower down and change it out with the one that’s on there that’s dead so I can do some listening

Busted out the bike today for a quick ride as I want to start riding agin. Just went up and down the street a few times. Threw the MA40s with phil wood hubs on. Insanely smooth and fast. I’m going to do a few upgrades to the bike this fall. Want to install a straight steel fork, and ditch the carbon one. Going to swap the crankset to a nice single for the front and use a single bar end shifter for the rear. It’s fitted with a Phil wood bottom bracket, have been looking for a headset in 1” but they are next to impossible to find. Oddly enough I live right next to the Phil wood machine shop.

I recently swapped out my Nikko receiver for separates which makes for an almost uncomfortable stack o’ gear! But hey! I don’t quite need a step stool to reach the 8 track so I guess I’m ok!
Cheers……………………Todd
