Wow & Flutter Specs

Obviously, low is good. But is there a point at which lower wow & flutter is inaudible? For example, can anyone hear a difference between 0.025% and 0.001%?

Hmmm, I can't comment on those two numbers. The lowest I've seen is on the Nak's and they measure between 0.06 and 0.08% W&F weighted. I've seen W&F plotted on a Audio Precision System 1 with W&F and it becomes clear that W&F is a moving target and is dynamic. The two numbers that you give I don't think would be audible to me. I'd like to see the numbers that those machines would generate on the same Leader W&F meter.

One of the best tests for detecting W&F is acoustic piano.

Jon, I got the .025% figure from the specs of a Realistic LAB-500. Of course, real world measurement may prove that incorrect. The figure came from the RadioShack 1980 catalog. I noticed that the 1979 catalog lists the W&F for that table at 0.04%. Either CEC made some improvements or the marketing department did.

ears vary, but at that low a level, I would think the W&F would be inaudible to most humans. Sometimes, folks here surprise me, though. The turntable in question seems, from the reports I've read, a quality workhorse.
