Write a Limerick

I think I should post here again
Let's give this ole keyboard a spin
My humor is dry
Or maybe quite wry
It's good if it leaves ya a grin

Got the tone arm in the middle
But I can't hear no damn fiddle
I'm thinking it's just a damn fable

Though sometimes it seems like there's none
But then I start writing
It gets real exciting
Then sooner than later I'm done

The trick is to go with the flow
You really don't want to go slow
Just try not to think
And put down some ink
And hope that your rhyme doesn't blow

"Write a Limerick" has hit post five hundred.
Several times now it's come back from the dead
It sure is nice to relax
and play around with syntax
and have all those rhymes dance around in your head.

My wife stared at me in silence
As I meticulously aligned my stylus
In other words, a typical audiokarma romance.

That the owner didn't want any more.
One or two were in such a condition,
It made for a pitiful rendition,
But still I will go back for more.

but they are not open now until ten.
I like to go when it's early.
Waiting just makes me squirrelly
I'll have to do something else until then.

Every day the hot sun has been out.
My lawn has turned very brown.
Restrictions placed by the town
but today Mother Nature helped out.

If you want to see them you hafta be a quick'un
blame insecurity, see poetry is new to me
I don’t want my rhymes to live in perpetuity
Like this one here, it was never written

Won't do itself, me sitting on my ass
Wasn't much fun me cooking in the sun
But now it's over, I'm done
Think I'll pour me a big frothy frozen glass
