Check your grounding scheme on the equalizer board. Are you using MM or MC ?This hum is only there on Phono,
You likely have a broken connection to the HP jacks or a cracked PCB in that general area.Or the phone jacks are both broken.
Do you hear it if AUX or TAPE is selected ? Does this sound like crosstalk ?Ok, so I've been listening to the Yamaha for over 2 years now, man how time flies! Last week I put headphones on to listen and I heard a not so faint noise (white noise?) coming from both channels. I fiddled with the controls and the noise volume stayed constant. The volume and balance controls had no effect, and the noise was constant as I selected different inputs, even muted FM. Now when I listen to the speakers with no input source I can hear that same noise, faint but definitely there. I need to open the receiver to try to clean one of the selector switches better and I want to look for the source of this new noise. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Rick
