If a very wide baffle is advantageous, the ~26 inches across of JBL 3677 cabinets would provide it, either expanding the existing horn spot or building something to go on top.
This effectively puts a 9V 'bias' on the dielectrics of the caps, ensuring that when the signal passes through the zero point the capacitor does not charge and discharge its dielectric. Or that's what I'm speculating happens. Theoretically this should make no difference at all, but in a capacitor with a lot of hysterisis in the dielectric it might. I would expect any audible effect to be highly dependent on capacitor type. This should make the greatest improvement in cheap, crummy NP electros and very little difference in high quality films with a low DF.

Series inductance is what you don't want when you're trying to pass high frequencies.
The PT waveguides are constant directivity, and edge diffraction appears to be less of an issue. With so many projects going on in ZilchLab, I haven't been able to make enough room to do more with precedence effect in Everest alignment. Still waiting to score some true perf screen material, but tests with light-blocking shades showed it will work. Just do it.I'm so pleased with this Ewave I am now thinking megawave! Has there been any progress in this direction?

Like Rob, I build 'em and use them. I've provided the know-how, and demonstrated how/why it works to move the operating point out of zero-crossing, but I'm staying out of any debate. It's subjective, and I can't measure anything. The best I can offer is what Rob just said: "Try it."If this was anyone but JBL or a few other highly respectable manufacturers I'd be smelling a whiff of huile de serpent here.

Do you really think it is significant when you compare it to the inductance in the Voice Coils?? How about the series crossover coils in any of the band pass filters?? JBL uses this technique in systems with response well out past 30khz. This would include the 9800/Everest 2 systems.
If you are not sure take a simple 2 way like an L20T and use it as a test bed.
Every network I make is CC. Don't expect lightning and thunderbolts. What you get is better lower level resolution and clarity.

The idea of charge coupling is intriguing and easily to implement but I don't think Ross voicing his concerns is inappropriate here, nor should it be dismissed out of hand. Does JBL have a white paper covering the idea of charge coupling?
