The WGs, drivers, and the small inductor are all back-ordered until ??
I have to re-think this project since it appears to not be a drop-in turnkey procedure for this situation. I will probably do what we discussed earlier in the case of the stillborn Pioneer CS-R300 project and do it as an add-on to the AR-6 before doing any irreversable surgury.
The point is that this is the only way I will be able to hear a sample of what you all have been talking about and judge for myself how it does relative to my own priorities.

For what it is worth...
The B&C PS32 is a fine candidate for EconoWaving. The Seville cabinets are roughly 2.4 cubic feet, and the B&C would be much happier in 4 cubic feet. The WinISD plots with the driver in 2.4 ft tuned at 50 Hz shows pretty much exactly what I measured. In 4 ft tuned at 45 Hz, the WinISD plot shows another 10 Hz on the low end before dropping off.
In 4 cubic feet, it will be a superb woofer for an EconoWave. Too bad that someone took 34 of them on the E-Bay listing. Had we had time, maybe more E'Wavers could have snagged a pair. Perhaps the quantity buyer already knew they were good. Well, anyway, this pair will be used in new cabinets which will be very near the ideal 4 ft size. For $35 each, that was a SWEEEET deal. :yes:

I'm glad the tip was useful. I make being CHEAP a point of pride, but in this case I probably should have let go and bought a pair myself. Just got too many other speaker projects in the works though... generally would rather use a 15 in any 2-way, and am only seeing a 3-way in my near future if I can hornload a 12" for midrange...
Got baffle boards cut today for my Four Pi's. Never used 11-ply baltic birch before. I'm planning to glue to MDF for double-thick baffle. I'm curious what it will be like to use a plunge router and circle jig on that plywood. Tips very welcome.

HUH. Where would I have to go to hear them NOW? For my next stunt with my Imperial cabs, I may try putting a JBL 2380 horn in the compartment between the driver and horn mouth.
That would be a 90 x 40 CD horn, about 16" wide between flanges, with 2" compression driver, crossing over at ~750 or 800, which I think makes it an extension of the EWG idea... I still like mine a lot right where they are, in a big basement room that will be an exercise room/HT room. Spkrman57 wants me to try turning the 15" driver around to make it a front-loaded horn and build a chamber behind the driver, limiting output to ~ 200hz down. In other words, 30 cu ft per channel for just the bottom 3 octaves... then horn-load a 12" for up to 800, and of course a compression driver and horn above that.
Or I just front-load the 15" driver for 300-800, sort of like the big Tannoy BLH, and keep it a two-way. It would be kind of tricky, but I might be able to use that front extension/modification to align the compression driver and woofer.

I had a '65. Commando V8 w/ factory Carter 4 bbl, solid lifters, hi-comp pistons, 4speed ( with the weakest clutch I ever owned ) and factory red paint.

Use of B&C DE 250 and slightly tweaked crossover. I believe Zilch has a pair and will likely suggest further adjustments for it, at least I hope so!:yes: Tell us its true Zilch, tell us its true!
