Vintage Sansui 771 Stereo Receiver Lights No Power

Hey guys, I wanted to ask a question and hopefully someone can help me. I have had a beautiful vintage Sansui 771 stereo receiver for many years now. It plays and looks great. All of the lights on the front panel were working but one of them would go out after it was powered on awhile. I decided...

    First time Sansui receiver options

I’ve been keeping an eye out for a Sansui receiver for about 6 months and not a lot come up in Australia. I have a Sansui ST-525 I’d like to hook up and haven’t decided on the speakers yet. Currently there’s a 5000a, 771 and 7070 on gumtree all for around the AU$600-700 mark. There is a lovely...

    Sansui bias help

Hey everyone. This is my first post here so apologies if in the wrong place. My issue is, and I have had this happen twice now, on a sansui 661 (or 771) the bias sits at 29 to 31 and doesn't move past that. If I turn the trim pot, it'll go up or down 1 mv. Same behavior both channels. The...

    No DC Bias in 8010

Hi, I start serviced my "new" 8010 (Europe version of 771) and saw some minor (I hope) problems: noise from both channels on minimal volume position, variable DC voltage on output- 2-15 mV, and most strange thing - no DC Bias!!! On both channels its 0 and not changed during adjustment with...

    Sansui 771 10DC-1 10DC-1R

I have just started renovating this 771 and saw this repair on the power circuit board. Someone has used a bridge rectifier to replace the 10DC-1R. I have noticed on here that most people replace these with a pair of normal diodes but I have sourced some from Silicon Ark. Should look more standard.

    Sansui 771?

I know these are pretty well regarded here, though searching the forum finds wide opinions on how they compare to other Sansui receivers. I have a 9090, which I find very impressive, though I do not need that much power. Local guy who buys/repairs/sells has one. He even told me he picked it...

    Valuation for Sansui 771

I have a Sansui 771, but it isn't flawless. The fuse type lamp for the signal display has been soldered to the clip. I don't have the tools or skills to fix it. Aside from that, two other lamps seem to have a loose connection - they work, but may require a tap to blaze to full glory. All...

    Finally fixed my 771

I bought a 771 from a flea market last year and enjoyed it for a while. It started popping and cracking on the left channel, and near the same time I stumbled upon a Realistic STA-90 that work fine. So I swapped it in and set the 771 aside. I recapped the 771 ~6 months back, but a hiss...

Sansui 771, here's what's happening: From tim to time (not every time) when I turn the unit on, during the press of the power button, I get a loud heavy pop/distortion/noise delivered to my right speaker for a split second. Only afterwards the really clicks and all normal. During the...
