Got my dads old Philips F7230 Fully Automatic turntable, needs fixing up, please help

Hello, I have been searching for a turntable to get into vinyl, I found my dads old turntable a Philips F7230 Fully Automatic turntable. From what I've read on other forums it's a piece of ****, but I intend to use it anyway and then spend most of my money on a amplifier and stereo system then...

ADC XLM or M91ED for Thorens TD 125 MKII

Folks, I'm still relatively new to vinyl, but found a Thorens TD125 MKII which I've been enjoying for a few months now. This TT had an 'ADC XLM' on it. (It's the original ADC XLM, not a MKII or newer). The TT with the ADC cart sounded fine to me, but I sent it in to be serviced, and the tech...

    P20 MDR low volume

I just obtained a Revox B795 and found the stylus was worn out, so replaced it with the AKG X15 MD. The cart is the original Revox P20 MDR. Works ok with clean sound, but volume is low. I have to turn up my amp about 75% to get a decent volume. Anyone any ideas?

    New Custom PhonoCartridges

I am wondering if, given my old days as a cartridge designer (ADC OmniPivot and Astrion as well as the LMF Tonearm and 3001 Turntable), if there is any interest/market for custom handbuilt cartridges these days. I have touched base with some old suppliers for cantilever, diamonds, high gauge...

How to tell how much weight is needed for cartridge.

Hey guys, this is my second post, and the journey to turntable-Dom is almost over for me. After a lot of research, I managed to get a Philips 212 off off the bay of "E". I would have just waited for a local offer, but I love about 100 miles from anything that isn't red neck USA, so that would be...

Will an Ortofan 2M Red fit my turntable...

Hello All, I have a Pioneer Pl-50 turntable, and after trying in vein to align my Cart (PC-35) I'm looking to modernize my turntable just a bit. Moreso, I would just like a cartridge that is a bit newer. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe my cart is one of the best ever made. That's why I'm here, is to ask...

    Best Cart for AT-LP120?

Beginner at vinyl here, bought my first turntable about 2 months ago which was the AT LP120 USB, I'm very happy with the turntable and produces a nice sound with the included AT95e cart, I was going to make the stupid choice of buying a Crosley Cruiser, but in about a week of research I had...

    Audio Technica AT-55

    Denon DP-72L Arm Setup

The manual recommends 50mm setup from base of the headshell to the cartridge tip. The top photo shows the simple setup. Draw a horizontal line, then 2 lines crossing at 90 degrees, and 50mm apart. The 2nd photo shows a dead on view of the headshell base aligned to the first line. The...

Audio Technica ML440a cartridge and stylus

When I added this cartridge and stylus to my Pioneer PL-530 turntable is helped balance out the sound and is reading the vinyl albums better than ever before. I highly recommend this cartridge to anyone. It's inexpensive and will make your albums sound so sweet.
