bad album covers anyone?

Poor Ken. In every similar list. "By Request Only", indeed. Ken, please, please, please sing "Whole Lotta Love"!

"I know my accordion is hot but what can we do for a cover? I know! Let's have a picture of ME naked with my clothes strewn about. That'll sell the records! In fact, how about me moving the accordion up a....no? OK."

Millie, feces fetish.

I want to punch John Bult in the nose.

:D

Oh my God, it took me 15 minutes to pick myself off of the floor:lmao::lmao::lmao: Thank you I needed that.

The LP "My Lips are Made for Blowing" brings to mind a session we had in a big band I was playing Trombone in years ago. Those of us in the Trombone section where all having a hard time to keep from toppling off of our chairs in convulsions. We had a lady who played the Bari Sax she was busy keeping her reed moist but it looked like she was giving her Sax' a blow job. We where dying :naughty:

That's not the Tamla logo. I think it says "TAMIA".

TAMLA

I dunno, it sure looks like the same logo to me. I wonder if she had the Motown Sound backing her recorder playing.

I can't remember the name of the album, but it had a chick in a frying pan with a fried egg. This album cover made me want to vomit:puke:, so sick as in twisted not funny at all:no:.

That would be the second album by the German band Eulenspygel. They were a mediocre jazz/hard rock fusion band that made several albums in the 70's and 80's (this particular gem is from 1973). I was considering posting it, but it is really an awful cover. I think I let whomever is curious to do a Google search for that one. Since Natalie only mentioned the chick in a frying pan with a fried egg, I think she might have seen the censored version. The original version had a live chick standing on top of a dead chick and that was on top of an egg in a frying pan.

There were a couple of lesser known bands from Germany that had horrible album covers. If I am not mistaken there was a band called Ardo Dombec that had a cover consisting of an ice cream cone with a clump of grass and dirt plopped into the center of it.

Ach! Meine faux pas! You're right!

I wonder what how heck Tamla got involved with that?

Doug

Motown occasionally did some odd things in the 70's. While this is straying from the subject somewhat, I always found Motown's involvement with this rather amusing:

Does anyone remember the original cover for "Mom's Apple Pie"? It's one of those "Bricks will be shat when you see it" things.

While the cover was very over the top, for some reason it made it worse calling it "Mom's Apple Pie". Maybe it would have been worse if it were "Mom's Cherry Pie". I've not heard this album, but with comparisons to Chicago and Blood, Sweat and Tears (I am assuming the David Clayton-Thomas era) and production by Grand Funk and Bloodrock producer Terry Knight, I can't say that I am actively seeking this one out.

(Apologies to Chicago, BS&T, DC-T, Grand Funk and Bloodrock fans whose toes I might have stepped on.)
