Did levinson krell or threshold have that power then?

I would have to google it a bit, but off the top of my head, I think they had that and a lot more. I could be wrong though.

EDIT... Google says probably not, the KSA-50 and KSA-100 while awesome, don't quite get to 200 wpc at 8 ohms.

Wah bout Crown. That is one short list for high power just as the receiver wars ended

Probably a Lethe handful of small companies. Was G.A.S. still around?

Updated! My original list was what I know about. But doubt a Crown but would beat a Pioneer M-91. Just saying.
 
Oh late 80s to early 90s.

Gotta add McCormack probably Conrad Johnson. You know some of those high end brands folks can't discuss without fighting. Add Hsrmsn Kardon Citation to the list
