Cool American military planes.

The skies have cleared up on Sunday for the final day at the Miramar Air Show.

Sitting watching tv I heard the deep sound of piston driven engines - ran outside to see a P-38 flying by.

I have never seen a P-38 in real life!

F-22 flight demo also - spitting flares and using the vectored thrust to do maneuvers I've never seen before: pancake falling into a turn, then loop.

A "live" P-38 is a wonderful sight... they are a lot bigger than you think compared to other WWII fighters

The Japanese pilots in WWII referred to the P-38 as the "Fork Tailed Devil", and I seem to also remember reading a reference that the German pilots also exclaiming the same, after encountering/tangling with that fighter that the famous Kelly Johnson designed, & Lockheed manufactured aircraft in aerial combat over Europe.
A twin engine two stage supercharged badass performing unique design, it was for the era !

Position lights wrong on the B1-B above, like the negative on the film printed backwards or whatever.

I noticed that as well. AI does some weird stuff to photos you feed it for renders.

Yep, even on nighttime RC toys, everyone knows the red light is on the left wing and the green is on the right (orientation when viewed from sitting in the Pilot's seat)
