yea thats cool! i love the how its made show! it looks like they didnt take much time on that driver.. i wonder if it was used for sale or if they just tossed it???
idk i guess if thats all you do all day you'd get really quick at making them.

Why would they toss it? I believe those were shots of actual speaker production. The days of a lone craftsman spending hours meticulously hand-adjusting things are long gone, except for a very few artisans and 'boutique' businesses. Making speakers is a business, done in factories with production-line technologies. Speeding up, simplifying and streamlining the process is important, if a business wants to remain competitive. Any other way, and the company would go bankrupt, or their speakers would be inordinately expensive. The processes they showed in that film were already quite labor-intensive and time-consuming, by some standards. If they were doing truly large production numbers, or making them in any place where labor is expensive, then they'd automate more of it. Seeing how labor-intensive the process is, explains why so many of the world's speakers are made in China, where "cheap labor" is more available.
