How do Ls3 / 5a sound compared to Kef Concerto?

Is it worth upgrading?

Will they sound better and have more detail?

They both have the B110 & T27 but the Kef Concertos also have a subwoofer B139.

There are a few different manufacturers of this speaker. But yes, my understanding is that they need to use KEF drivers.

I think you will find that the cabinet and xover give this speaker its special sound.

There are many KEF speakers, and a world of difference in sound between some of them - you really need to hear them to be sure for yourself.

I'm kind of confused, your thread title is "How do Ls3/5a sound compared to Kef Concerto?" Then your post is

Are you trying to ascertain what the sound quality between the 2 is? or figure out if it's worth spending money to upgrade from the Kef's?

I'm assuming you've given up on the Pioneer HPM-100's?

Sound quality between LS3 /5A and concerto?

Pioneer HPM 100, ditton 66 & Yamaha NS-1000 are other options.

The iconic LS3/5A is a good little monitor, but over the last, say 40 years, better small speakers have been developed. Harbeth and Proac spring to mind. That said, I almost always prefer a larger speaker given equal quality, I'd keep the Concertos
