Either way I would go to what else I have laying about.
My restored by Terry Fisher 500C is really too good to be used out in the garage where it is so I would use that in the bedroom.
Main rig I would biamp using the 300B DRD SET monoblocks I built with my Stereo 70 for bass. The SansuiTU777 I have that PunkerX modded.
I would use my 2A3 SET amps in the room I am in now or maybe my Scott integrated and tuner.
My Luxman integrated and tuner for system no. 2.
My music computer, hmm maybe the Scott 340B receiver or the cute tiny Chinese 6P1 SEP integrated.
No place for the Marantz 1060 but possible as NM as NM can be, warm sound, but like most lacks detail.
I am not going on a hunt to find stuff I forgot I have so nothing is final.

This is a really hard question. For great sound, there are a lot of contenders, but I went to McIntosh primarily to get off the sound-go-round of gear. My primary goal was to buy stuff and keep it for years instead of switching all the time.
OK... so if I can't have Mc... I don't think I would go with only one brand, but if I had to... Accuphase.

I'm just plain too cheap to buy new Mac gear. I bought used Mac tube gear instead. I started about 14 years ago before the prices started going crazy. MA230, two MX110's and an MR67 all excellent condition and/or restored. Some day I may break down and buy newer production Mac gear (couple years old), but stll used.

Doesn't exist: Nagra, Meridian, ML, Lamm, AR, C-J, Halcro, Bryston, MBL would all be considered. Some, like MBL, are still way more expensive than my Mac's.
This is complicated by my having a very effective 2 ch/HT hybrid system. Therefore it would likely be limited to Meridian, ML, and Bryston. The Halcro theater system looks really sweet, but is still very esoteric.
The sad world of no Mac's would indeed complicate my world. However I would still much prefer the world in which Mac doesn't exist than the world where it does and I can't afford it!!!

Used to own one R1500 receiver (75 watter) powering the then larger Altec Lansing 891A with a Lenco L75 TT ... one of the earlier great used systems I owned during college days. Of course, I would also not forget the AR system in exchange just after that - the AR TT (with plasticky looking arm), AR Receiver and the matching bookshelf AR4ax speakers.
Looking back, should have kept them ...... even though am a Mc Maniac now, .......... Those are the good ole' days of yore! :thmbsp:

I'd stretch for a Linn, especially if I was limited to only one brand for both speakers and electronics. They have great active speakers (call it internal quadramping or pentamping or something..).
Hey then I would miss my MCD201 because it would be the only piece that I would need to add to complete a system with those speakers!
