Jbl Speaker ID Please

Holy smokes.

Somewhere around here, someone posted a picture of some JBLs redone with white foam surrounds that looked like Lansaloy. Don't know if they exist in that size or not.

yeah it seems like I recall seeing some of those white/yellow surrounds on ebay not too long ago.don't recall the size though...

Great find! Are you going to share the auction site and amount you ended up paying. No pressure it is your choice.

Because the brake fluid can contaminate the cone and make it impossible to properly re-foam them later.

off topic but I haven't gotten my mind around applying anything to rotting foams except my finger which promptly goes through it!

I've tried watered down XXXX but the foam always disintegrates as soon it's touched and the thought of applying something oily to a drivers form/cone area seems an exercise in futility.carry on...

I am really glad these speakers made it into the fold. i am looking forward to listening impressions and pictures with these in their new home.

I'm sure we're all anxious to hear the purchase price but just for the OP, don't feel like you have to reveal it. If I'm thinking of ever reselling something I don't always want it out there what I paid for it.

OTOH if it's a major scroe you gotta tell us! Wait! No! Dangit. :lmao:

Lansaloy isn't foam.

I know some folks curious what I shelled out mainly to know if a major score. I'll not reveal a final number, but I will say that the last bid on paper was $2xx.xx or so. Then it went to a silent auction. Auction was really fun. I consider it a score, but not like walking in a yard sale and getting them for $20.

A steal regardless!

We're all drooling here waiting for more pics!
