It is an interesting story how I was introduced to Klipsch speakers. I was a senior in high school (1978) when my brother returned from Germany (Army).
He had brought his stereo back that he purchased there, (Harmon Kardon Citation 16, Phase linear preamp, Klipsch Heresey speakers).
One evening he came to my house and asked if I wanted to help him DJ at a local Elks Lodge since the band that played disco had quit and left them with very few options for disco night. He also wanted to use my RS Mach 1 speakers since the ball room was so big. So we hooked up his Citation 16 to the Heresey and Mach 1 speakers and spun disco records most of the night.
I was impressed by the amount of sound the Klipsch speakers put out, the size lends you to believe different.
We continued for 3 weeks until they found another band so it worked out well that we came to the rescue. They served us free drinks and food all evening and payed us well.
I guess you could say I started liking horn speakers early on and found out how well built the Klipsch speakers were. My brother still has his Heresey's and added a pair of Forte's to them, that being said, it must be my reasoning behind buying my KLF-10s. :thmbsp:
