An NA series Miata is one of the best cars to track. Plenty around, cheap to maintain, parts readily available. A lot of people know their ins-and-outs.

A super fun car. Maybe, one day, I'll look into a beat-up used one. The S2000 is too $$$ to track anymore.

The first guy I worked for, had a best buddy with a 1968 Barracuda, that he had basically built to "Formula S" spec, and a bit beyond. 340 6-Pack and a 4-speed.

That thing was a terror around town. It would flatly outrun most of the big-block stuff. One of the only things that was reliably faster than a L79 Chevy II on the street.

Buddy had a 68 he bought from a auction here (,written off) It had a 318 .He eventually got it all fixed up and before the paint even had a chance to cure he wrote it off.
