Marantz MA-22 - should I get them?

Does anyone have experience with Marantz MA-22a amps? How do they compare with other monoblock / monobloc options, if you don't want to spend $5000 each?

Don't know much about them other than pretty pricey for a 50 watt mono amp!

Glad you brought up Harman Kardon - I demoed a pair of HK-775 monoblocks and if there weren't some glitches I would have come home with them.

I'd prefer mono amps but would settle for dual mono done well. Is the Citation XX dual mono? What other HK amps would you suggest?

The XX is just really special.
There's a good write-up about it on the VintageKnob site.
Don't have any other experience with HK amps,just their receivers like the 430/730 series.
There are literally thousands of amps out there and everyone has their own opinions on which on which one is best,etc.
I still have my Phase 400's from 1974,Dynaco 410,SAE 2400L,EPI M1, and now MAC 2500 & 7200 and like them all for various reasons.
Can I hear a huge difference between them ?

Only when my wife tells me to turn them DOWN!


And yes the XX is dual mono.
