I'm betting my last dollar that for most of us just getting out is good enough, catching fish is the bonus.

Went fishing Thursday on the North Channel with my two brothers and my youngest daughter, great day special times. We caught no fish.

Fishing on the beach on Okaloosa Island between Santa Rosa and Destin. Using sand fleas for pompano or more likely spotted sea trout. Right around sunset with a good cool one.

Great tasting panfish. No scales, just gut and toss in a hot skillet with some butter. We used to catch them in late summer in NC near Cape Hatteras. Made for some mighty fine dinners. I've used sand fleas since we were little kids and too cheap to buy bait. IIRC they work good for flounder. too.

We'd usually have better luck with pompano in the early/mid morning.

When I was 13-14 years old. Dad took us on a camping vacation to Montana. Specifically Hungary Horse reservior. Our campsite was very close to where the Hungary Horse Creek drained into the reservior. I was nailing some huge " bull trout / dolly varden trout"
.

Me and a couple guys from work whent out to the North and middle Channels and did pretty good we all limited on walleyes and 1 Smallmouth.... surprised you didn't get any they have been hammering them.

Great thread. I love being out on the ocean even if I don't catch anything. Here is my biggest Cod ever, 51lbs.. A day I will never forget not only for the fish but for the great time had with friends.

Yeah, the day before my bros limited, that's fishin, it was a beautiful day though. Large musky's leaping out of the water like missiles in front of Decker's.

The second picture was a Small Mouth bass. Around 6lbs. You really have to understand how special a fish like that is in Maine, with the short growing season for the fish. He was thrown back to give someone else the fun I had. Amazing fight!

Six pound smally is an impressive fish wherever it is caught, nice work trinhsman!

I got a Trout hat trick today Rainbow, Brown and Brooke trout, all in the same river... kinda cool.the I got 5 Rainbows Biggest 15" not monsters but they are 15 min from my house. Frist trout on the fly rod.

I caught this today fishingin the Flint River ,downtown Flint Michigan.... The the same Flint River with the bad water and high murder rate. It's Thompson Center Arms 50 caliber black powder or muzzle loading rifle with a bushnell scope. You never know what you'll get.
