Phono preamp suggestions, please

I'm looking for a decent, but not break-the-bank-expensive preamp with a headphone jack. I'm running a Music Hall 2.2le through a Fisher 800-B. Thoughts and suggestions much appreciated.

Do a search in this forum for phono preamps. So many threads about them. You'll get an idea what's out there and within your budget.

if you're handy with a soldering iron, there are kits, from assembled boards that need a power supply hookup and case,
to a bag of parts, an empty board, and maybe a schematic and parts layout.

An actual budget number or range may help here as well as some indication of your needs (MM only or MM/MC would be a start). For some on here, "not-break-the-bank" may mean something completely different than what it does to you. Agree with the post to do some searches, there are lots of threads including ones dedicated to the ArtDJ as well as the Emotiva XPS-1, among others. Good luck in your search, I am in the process of moving up the chain a little bit in this area as well. Lots of choices in most any budget category.

PS - the headphone jack requirement is one that I just noticed, this certainly should narrow the field a bit.

What is the bank thinking the breaking point would be? These things start at 20 bucks and go to 20,000, somewhere in there is a broken bank limit.
Headphone jack is an interesting added feature
Turntable and amplifier but no info on the cartridge to be able to recommend at Hafler PH-50 or PH-60 (MM amd MC, respectively) but they don't have a phone jack on them.

I've been looking at rolls VP29 Phono Preamp. Currently going for $50. Anyone have thoughts on that unit?

No direct experience, but it looks like the Rolls VP29 lacks a volume control for the headphone output.

I always thought the headphone output on the USB-model ART was more "for show". I've only used it once or twice with my pair of Sennheiser HD201s. I seriously doubt it would have sounded good with my HD650s.

For under $150 you could buy the (non-USB) ART DJPre II and a Schiit Magni 2.
