Photofacts for a Scott 340B

In the Boston area there are a few stations I listen to, mostly rock. I enjoy the radio through my tuners and receivers but I've had them for quite some time, back before radio was totally pre programmed and had more variety. I still hear some good music but it's not what it used to be, 4 or 5 stations I used to choose from. Now it's 2, 3 at most. If youv'e got the receiver I'd restore it. it is a fine sounding unit and they are a novelty but if I were to buy another Scott I will go for a another 299C or D.

There is plenty of FM here in New York. There is also great AM. I just wish I could get my 500-S to work better with it.

No good FM stations here and that is one of the reasons I sold my Scott 340. Well that and I wanted to fund my SET project. It seemd like the thing to do. I paid $25 for the 340 back in 1983. I sold it on ebay for about $250.

I have an ST-70 for when I want share my music with the neighbors. :D

Hi, I have a 340-B that just came back from my tech, I havent even hooked it up yet (I did when I first got it). Had a new power switch put in and controls cleaned. Its going to go back for 4 new cap caps (ouch), and new output tubes (NOS), the other tubes are fine.

I just did the measurements for the cabinet and will be cutting one this week.

Great receiver, I hope it all goes well when I hook it up this weekend.

As far as I know Sam's photo facts are not available for any of the late model Scott gear past the 299B era 1961 -1962 ? or something like that.

The 340 (A) is a very different animal then a 340B... Almost nothing would applicable between the two models.

I can't wait to see what it looks like in one of your cabinets. I assume you are going to post a pic on your website?

Hi, I just got my Scott 340-B back from tech (only replaced power switch and cleaned switches, etc), it will go back later after I make a cabinet for it to get caps and what not done.

My serial number is 303825, is that the early or late version, I looked at Scott website, but eh schematics, do not list a serial number range. Also if anyone has a service manual I would like to get a copy for when it goes back for service.

Scott 340B cabinet

Hi, Yes, I will be showing a cabinet for it, I will be cutting cab's for the Scott 340B, the 399 and the 335 multiplex at the same time, they will be in walnut and will be up in two weeks - definitely before end of November. The sizing is already done for the 340B and the 335 multiplex, sizing for the 399 will be early next week, then cut - sand - veneer - sand - finish. Viola - It's a real cabinet!!
