Got lucky on FB marketplace and found a one owner set of speakers and the receiver. So a pair of HD66s and a 2216B with both the original receipt and manual. New OEM Woofers and knobs are on the way for the speaker. The 2216B had LEDs put in as part of a service.

I love reciepts! We need a thread of these, they're a fascinating look into a buyer's and seller's mind. It looks like the 2216B was discounted a huge 38% (around there) from the retail price of $240 USD. That was a nice little system for 1978, I've always been a fan of the HD Speakers but they're on the radar now and unfortunately most don't have the original drivers or Vari-Q's.

Me too! The original owner asked if I even wanted it, and wouldn't let him throw it out. Fortunately, I managed to find OEM woofers, mids, knobs, and crossovers via other channels so these now are back to factory specs. This one had the original Vari-Qs, but no knobs. Just had to do some foam replacement on one replacement woofer, D5 in the Vari-Q, put the other knobs on and it's good as new. Still missing the plug though, which is apparently optional as per marketing materials. I have the finished photo in another thread I posted here.
I have a feeling this was a floor/test model as, to my knowledge, the speaker pair was heavily discounted as well. Though on the speakers, that could be because the HDXX0s were about to be released or just came out.

While you can not do much about scratched number, it is a patina of a receiver now, you can repair sleder. Just search the forum there were several techniques described.
Baby 2015 is one of sweetest sounding receivers and it is worth some attention. When sometimes mine 2010 is hooked on my almost monster towers, some friends cant help wondered and realized that she has so much guts.

I love the baby Marantz! I have two of the 2015s. The one above was bought the day my mom went into labor having me. The second I bought as a parts unit, only to find out that it worked fine, just needed to be blown out. I had dads recapped in 2023 and play it through some JBL 4312c speakers. Sounds great!

I have two Marantz SR 1000's. Both listed for parts and i thought I'd try restoring them. So farI restored one using parts off the other one but really enjoyed learning how to fix things so decided to "repair" the second one as well. It's kind of addicting.
I also purchased a parts Marantz SR 4000. I thought I was repairable from pictures but once got it saw moisture damage not shown in images and rust on some critical areas. Look like all STK IC's need replacing, Thinking of looking for better condition one and "part out" this one.
I am hooked now and amazed how rich the sr 1000 sounds and looking forward to restoring more vintage ones soon
