RIP Sir. You introduced Madonna, Stevie Wonder, Chubby Checkers, Buddy Holly and many other major stars to the world. In fact the only "biggies" you did not introduce were Elvis and the Beatles. His American Bandstand had strict dress rules; jacket and tie for the boys and dresses or skirts for the girls. Times have changed. You and your standards will be missed.

So today we say good bye to Dick Clark

Not everyone has the same fondness for him, but many of us owe a lot to him and guys like Don Cornelius who gave "our" generation a welcome glimpse of the singers and bands we only could listen to (for those of us who couldn't make it to concerts for one reason or another).

Saw a lot of American Bandstand when I was a kid growing up in Philly. You never seem to see anyone with a bad Dick Clark story. Truly a good guy. RIP.
